Catching the Last of the January Sales.
This week sees the beginning of the end for many of the January sales, although we suspect there
will be a few more spring sales just around the corner. However, it’s a good idea to check out what’s
on offer at the moment as retailers are keen to clear winter stock in readiness for the coming year.
Additionally as the financial year comes to a close online and offline stores are looking to clear out
stock at this time of year. So what are the best deals to look out for during the last week of January?
Clothing offers
Winter clothes, coats and the like are all about to leave the shops for another year as new
collections come in. Good quality winter gear is normally expensive but with sales, discounts and
voucher codes on winter clothing, this time of year can be the best for stocking up on quality items.
In addition to being heavily discounted at this time of year it makes sense to buy the best quality you
can, as it will normally outlast the cut price version. Buy cheap and buy twice as the saying goes, but
buy in the sales and you can upgrade to the best, long lasting quality that you might not be able to
afford come the autumn.
Boots and shoes
As with winter clothing, good quality winter footwear will last for years, and it is something that
shops are keen to clear out at this time of year. “Cloggs” have a range of three for two offers and
some items are discounted by 70% so it’s certainly worthwhile to get booted as well as suited at this
time of year.
Holiday offers
Travel agents are also keen to get the bookings in at this time of year so it’s worth checking out the deals on offer. The sooner you can book for the summer, the better the deal you’ll get. Thomson has an excellent range of discounts and offers and all inclusive deals are subject to some heavy discounts. In addition their prices on last minute winter holidays and skiing trips are heavily discounted with prices as low as £165 per person for some European resorts. Thomas Cook is also offering great discounts with 10% of last minute deals in March and April or a fantastic £400 saving on your summer booking.
Romantic breaks
Finally, for those of us who are old romantics, it’s that time of year, or very nearly, when we’ll be saying it with flowers. In addition it might be just the time to book a romantic meal or even short break. Whether it’s a city break or romantic country retreat, with Valentine’s Day nearly upon us the prices will be already going skywards, if you haven’t already booked now it might be the last chance to make the most of cut price offerings. Macdonald hotel discounts currently offer a 50% deal on winter bookings so saying it with flowers and a short break may be cheaper than you could have hoped!
